I was wondering if anyone has been fishing at clark state lake and how the fish are bitting?
last monday fished pratt co lake for first time had a lot of fun caught 7 nice 10-12 crappie plus many perch and 2 small large mouth bass 12-15inch range, had fun
went over to Vets parks in great Bend and fished on the rocks in the NW corner of lake had a ball catching trout 2to3 lbs up to 21 inches on plastic tubes and spinners there is still alot trout left peaople need to get out and catch them before they die as it warm up.
is there nice saugeye in vets lake in great bend has anyone caught any there please post any info

try silver and blue rattletraps on north side of pratt co.the fist 3 jetties, cast rattletap along the bank u might get hung up a few times in the rocks ,ive caught several nice walleye and a 6lb wiper there this year also three 5lb bass, use smaller size rattletraps .. fishin pal jer
fish bitting hard and fast at ford county.small large mouth bass 4-6 inchs. blue gill 6 inches and fat real healthy. bull heads small and worm stealers.
Curious how the fishing at Meade lake is, any input would be great.

Fished Pratt County today,June 8th My wife and Kids went, caught 5 bass on worms under bobber and one on black and silver sassy shad type bait, lots of sunfish had lots of fun
Went to Pratt County lake on 6/6 and got a 10 pound 27" wiper off the inlet area using a crawler fighting the wind. Was a nice fight, it would be nice to know what the lake record is, yes I have pictures.

Fishing at Wilburton Ponds in the Cimmaron National Grasslands for channel cat during the day is fair to good. Nightcrawlers seem to be the bait of choice.All the channel cat we caught were catch and release. Size was very small to small but plenty of action. tried other baits and spinners with no success. Was worth the trip just because of the lively action on worms
We went fishing at Clark over the 4th of July weekend and had a great time. Caught some monster Large Mouth, a whole bunch of White Bass, and a couple of huge channels. We were fishing the coves from a boat but people were catching fish from the shores as well. We wanted Crappie, but couldn't get them to bite! Any advice???
Fished at Clark County weekend of July 4th and caught several nice largemouth bass but mostly around cover. However lake is VERY LOW (and they are continuing to let water out) and good cover and access to good cover is getting difficult for boat fishermen. Fished again the following weekend and largemouth were very hard to come by and the lake was probably 6-8" lower than it was the weekend before. This has now made it impossible to get to the good cover areas (such as creek area, north end and "flats").
I wasn't fishing for them but saw some bank fishermen that were pretty successful fishing for channel cat. Those I talked to said they were having best luck on dough bait.

Fished @ Ford County Lake. I am disapointed at the trash thrown in and around the lake, I would be willing to pay a fee at all lakes including Clark County which is another one I fish. If we could have trash service. People have no pride in how their lakes look. I feel if you can't clean up your mess than don't bother coming to the lakes. Looks like we build our lakes on a junk yard. Maybe the tree huggers should get involved in cleaner lakes. Leave it cleaner than you found it.

we caught about 4 small channel cat everynight for 3 nights in coldwater off liver and shrimp in about a hrs time each time

fished clark co the27th july had a day thats only happen once in a while had several bass over 4.5lbs 2over the 5lbs, 1 close to 6lb range alot of smaller fish as well fishing heavey cover with wind bolwing in it 1/2 oz jig w/ pig
I fished Stone Lake in Great Bend for a good 3-4 hours on a boat throwing everything I got in my tackle box for largemouth and wipers and ended up catching two small largemouth on spinnerbait. Fishing hasn't seemed the best lately.
Whats the water level like at Clark?

Pratt I have the same success as you have posted way up top... using rattle traps along the shore. My walleyes have been coming more in the open water though. The spot with the trees showing my dad has fished that area and caught about everything sitting down and relaxing and he was using a little blue fox spinner. The most recent trips though the bite has been tough. I will have to bring my boat out and get a look at the bottom and find some structure other than the shoreline.

Well good news anyone in the Garden City area. Sandsage bison pond is rising again due to good snow storms. The pond is 95% full and rising. If good weather continues they'll be able to stock fish soon as possible.

Just like last year sadly the Sandsage Bison Pond has gone though another drought. Sadly with in a few weeks pond will go all dry. Any whos intrested in Channel Cats better catch them before its too late. Hopefully winter snows will refill it again. So long trout season.
